2015 valentine by lettergirl on etsy One of the ways I'm trying to use my focus word this year is in connecting with my own work: following through on sketches/ideas, creating work I'm proud of, and making things that will bring a little beauty to your every day.  First up is my Things I Love card (which would make a pretty sweet valentine, but could really be used for just about anything). I'm also trying to connect with others the old-fashioned way, and for me that means sending more postcards.  I like getting more bang for my buck; little notes are so much less intimidating than letters. I love these cards I ordered from LilyMoon on etsy: lilymoon   (And if you have some awesome postcards, let me know about them.  More postcards in my collection means I'll be more motivated to send them out into the world!) On my nightstand, I've got Unconventional & Unexpected: American Quilts Below the Radar 1950-2000.  Why you'll want to check this one out of the library:  gorgeous photos + essays by Kaffe Fassett, Denyse Schmidt, Natalie Chanin, and many others. unconventional quilts Happy Tuesday, friends!

I truly LOVE your ‘Things I Love’ card, Gina! I’m so inspired!! ♡ Heartfelt thanks for all you share with us! Have you heard about the wonderful organization Postcrossing? It’s a lovely way to connect with people all over the world by sending postcards. Take a peek: http://www.postcrossing.com I think it’s an amazing way to connect with people that you might never meet in any other way!

Thanks, Dawn! I have that site noted in the Resources section of Studio Yearbook One, but I haven’t actually tried it. Maybe this is the year!
