summer reading program by gina sekelsky studioI'm so excited that it's finally time to start this year's Summer Reading Program for Grown-ups! When I was a kid, I always took part in the Summer Reading Program at our local library -- you know, read 20 books and earn a prize at the end of the summer. I continued the tradition with my kids, and a couple of years ago, the wheels started turning for creating my very own version of a Summer Reading Program for my blog readers.  Won't you join me this year? The Details Read any five books this summer and write a short paragraph review of each--a few sentences will do it. Your books can be fiction or non-fiction. (I even count cookbooks!) The Deadline Send me your list via email August 15-31st: gina {at} ginasekelsky.com.  Please note, I cannot accept lists sent before August 15th. The Prize Everyone who sends a book list (complete with mini-reviews) will receive one set of my September Stickers of the Month, printed from my original handwritten art. One prize per reader, please. On Wednesdays over the summer, I'll be sharing some of the books I've been reading.  And once I've received all the book review lists, I'll send out a compilation list of the books read (so we'll all be set with new ideas for fall reading).  I hope you'll share the news with your friends -- the more books, the merrier!

This is so fun. I loved summer reading when I was a kid too. I always had all of the requirements competed in the first week but kept going because I devoured my small library’s book collection. I’ve been slacking on my reading lately, so this may be the motivation I need

My local library is doing a “read down your fines month” — where you get $1 off your fines for every 15 minutes you read in the library with another family member. I’ll need to read for…well…a while. Fun way to start the summer, though!

I *love* a summer reading theme, Kate! I often do that myself. This summer, though, my theme seems to be thrust upon me: read these three LONG books. (Aren’t long books supposed to be for winter?!)
