Thanks to everyone who has participated in the Summer Reading Program so far -- I've seen a few titles I've been wanting to read, a few I've already read, and many that are brand new to me. Next week will be my last installment of the Wednesday Book Club for this summer, and I've got a very special announcement I can't wait to share with you.  (Hint:  it involves me. And a book.) Meanwhile, here are two books about one of my favorite places, the library: The-Artists-Library-375x524The Artist's Library by Laura Damon-Moore and Erinn Batykefer I just picked this up last night and haven't had a chance to dig in yet, but the premise is so appealing:  using the library to spark your creativity.  The book is an offshoot of The Library as Incubator Project, another awesome creative resource I knew nothing about (until I went to the library and found this book, that is).  Warning: if you click on that last link, you may want to allow yourself more than a few minutes as it takes you to a treasure chest of libraries+artists+neat ideas. bibliocraftBiblioCraft by Jessica Pigza Part information resource (how to take advantage of a library's resource) and part DIY project manual, BiblioCraft is the perfect companion to The Artist's Library.  And it's an STC Craft book, which is always a sign of lovely.  My favorite project in the book is a bed covering by Natalie Chanin.  I've had a similar project in my idea journal for years now, have never taken the time to make it, and was satisfied just seeing her version in print. I'm accepting submissions for the Summer Reading Program through August 31st, so you still have plenty of time to put your mini-reviews together and earn your prize!
